Oh, Cyberpunk 2077, we all wanted so much more from you.

CD Projekt Red, the developer behind The Witcher 3, worked on Cyberpunk 2077 for about eight years, only to have it massively blow. Fans (myself included) should have been more suspicious when CD Projekt Red got caught placing transphobic ads in the world of the game, then refused to apologize for it. I, like a lot of people, approve of the transphobia, but wondered if it was some mix-up in translation. After all, CD Projekt Red is a Polish company. Maybe they just didn’t understand the implications of the advertisement?

On the one hand, we just finished up Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette and our faces aren’t even dry from all the emotional tears we shed during that finale. But on the other hand, the last season of The Bachelor, starring Peter Weber, seemed like it happened 500 years ago. So we guess it is time after all. Time to judge a bunch of women we don’t know based on nothing but one unflattering photograph and a poorly written bio.

Whew. We’ve made to the end of...what turned out to maybe be the best season ever? We got two full-ass love stories and two engagements this season. Last season, Peter ended up with three different members of his final five women, so we’ll call this season a huge improvement. It’s almost like casting older contestants with actual life experience matters! Let’s wrap up Tayshia’s love story and find out whose team won!

12 Days of Christmas Movies, Day 8: Godmothered

Seriously. Every time I feel like I’ve hit the lowest of the low of the lowest Christmas movie, something pops up that shows me we can go lower. Today, that something is Godmothered, a new movie available on Disney Plus starring Jillian Bell and not Amy Adams (Isla Fisher).

You see, this movie is about Eleanor Fay Bloomingbottom, a young fairy who’s in training to become a fairy godmother in a magical place called Motherland. The problem? She’s not very good. Then Eleanor discovers a letter from a 10 year old girl named Mackenzie Walsh, and the plucky fairy decides now’s the chance to prove herself to all the old lady fairies in Motherland.

The other problem? When Eleanor comes to our world, she discovers Mackenzie isn’t 10 anymore, and now she’s got a whole wealth of adult problems.

The Bachelorette S16E10/11: Tayshia's Heart Chakra is Cautious

Emily: We start this episode with the return of Chris Harrison, and I have questions about this timeline, because it really doesn’t feel like he quarantined for two weeks after he got back.

Susan: I wrote down “this timeline is confusing” for that very reason. Tayshia tells Chris about the return of Bennett and says she’s never seen so many men be so in touch with their emotions. Same. I love it. (“It” not being Bennett and his fake love.)

Emily: I love how Chris Harrison acts surprised that Bennett is still there. This is the first of many insults to our intelligence this episode. The insults to our intelligence continue as Tayshia heads off on her one-on-one with Blake, and we’re supposed to sit here and act like we actually believe she’s interested in Blake and she might keep him. Like, okay sure. But sure, 20 points for Blake Tayshia says she’s excited for the date, but she does not seem excited for the date.

12 Days of Christmas Movies, Day 7: Holiday Rush

Holiday Rush is a 2019 Netlix Christmas movie that I must have missed last year when I was doing my first annual roundup of Christmas movies. And after watching it, I can see why. There’s nothing wrong with this movie at all, really. It’s just… boring AF. And yet in spite of that, I feel like this one is going to end up ranking high on the Christmas scale. Why, you ask? Well, let’s just run it through and see what happens.

You know, I love a good musical. And I love Keegan-Michael Key. So I went into Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Story cautiously optimistic. Especially because the images I’d seen from this movie were really beautiful and vibrant and just screamed Christmas joy to me. And who doesn’t need a bit of Christmas joy this year? I need a bucket of it. Where is it? Is it in this movie?
